LG G6 OLED UK Price Confirmed — Cheaper Than G5 in Every Size

LG has confirmed UK pricing for the G6 OLED, its flagship television for 2026, and it is better news than most buyers were expecting. The range starts at £1,699 for the 48-inch model and reaches £15,999 for the 97-inch — the latter significantly lower than the £24,999 LG charged for the G5 in the same size at launch. Pre-orders are live now on Amazon UK and the LG Store, with shipping expected from mid-May 2026.

What You Get with the LG G6

The headline upgrade in the G6 is the Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 OLED panel. LG stacks multiple OLED layers to push peak brightness around 20% higher than the G5, targeting close to 3,000 nits. That matters in rooms with natural light, where standard OLED panels have always carried a brightness disadvantage against QLED and Mini LED alternatives.

Across the 55-inch to 83-inch models, LG also introduces Hyper Radiant Colour Technology. The aim is richer colour saturation without compromising the deep blacks OLED is known for. The 48-inch and 97-inch models use the Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 panel but without this addition — bear that in mind if screen size is leading your decision.

Processing is handled by the new Alpha 11 Gen3 AI processor, which LG claims runs 50% faster in CPU tasks and 70% faster in GPU performance than the chip found in last year’s G5. Upscaling of lower-resolution content and motion handling should both benefit. There is also a new Reflection Free Premium anti-reflective coating — an area where OLED televisions have historically lagged behind brighter panel types.

Gaming credentials remain strong: HDMI 2.1 across all four ports, 4K at 120Hz, VRR, and ALLM are all confirmed. LG’s webOS 2026 platform runs on Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot integration for AI-assisted smart TV features.

Exact pricing for the 55-inch to 83-inch sizes is available directly on Amazon UK — pre-order listings are live now. Shipping for most sizes is expected from mid-May 2026, though LG has indicated these dates are provisional and may change as UK stock becomes available.

What’s New Over the G5

The most significant story is the pricing shift. LG televisions have rarely launched at less than the equivalent model the previous year — the G6 doing so across every size without exception is genuinely notable. LG has also narrowed the gap between the G and C series by moving the Alpha 11 Gen3 chip down to the C6, so the G6 earns its premium through the brighter panel and Hyper Radiant Colour Technology rather than processor alone.

What Hi-Fi?, which reviewed the G6 alongside the C5, described the set as “brighter, richer and more refined” and awarded it five stars. For a flagship OLED television that also arrives cheaper than its predecessor, that is a strong early position to be in.

Is the LG G6 Worth Buying?

For anyone planning a flagship OLED purchase in 2026, the G6 makes a compelling case right now. Brighter panel, faster processing, a new anti-reflective coating, and launch prices lower than the G5 remove most of the usual arguments for waiting. The mid-May shipping estimate is the main caveat — if you need a television immediately, current G5 stock at discounted prices may be worth considering as an alternative.

For most UK living rooms, the 65-inch or 77-inch models will offer the best balance of screen size and picture performance. Check the Amazon UK pre-order listings to confirm current pricing on your preferred size before committing.
