DJI Osmo Pocket 4 — Everything Confirmed Ahead of 16 April UK Launch

DJI Osmo Pocket 4 compact gimbal camera on light surface ahead of April 2026 UK launch

DJI has officially confirmed the Osmo Pocket 4 will launch on Thursday 16 April 2026 at 12:00 PM GMT. The reveal follows a week of deliberate teasers under the tagline “The World In My Pocket,” and leaked retail packaging has already given away the headline specification: 4K video at 240 frames per second — a figure that puts the Pocket 4 ahead of most professional mirrorless cameras, let alone pocket cameras. UK pricing has not been officially confirmed ahead of launch, with pre-launch sources suggesting a starting price of around £489.

What’s Been Confirmed

DJI confirmed the April 16 launch date via its official social media accounts on 9 April. The company has since followed up with additional teasers: one showing “More storage. More stories” confirmed 107GB of built-in high-speed internal storage, while a second teaser referenced Open Gate sensor support — a feature that uses the full sensor area to allow flexible reframing across horizontal, vertical, and other formats without resolution loss.

A leaked retail box image, published by Notebookcheck on 11 April, appears to confirm 4K/240fps video recording. For context, the Pocket 3 topped out at 4K/120fps. No affordable, widely available compact camera currently supports true 4K/240fps; the capability has until now been the domain of cinema rigs costing several thousand pounds.

A separate leaked render shows a microSD card slot retained on the device — now behind a covered door rather than exposed as it was on the Pocket 3. This suggests improved dust and water resistance alongside the new internal storage.

The 1-inch sensor is widely reported across multiple pre-launch sources and lines up with DJI’s broader sensor strategy across its camera range. A larger sensor than the Pocket 3’s 1/1.3-inch chip should translate into meaningfully better low-light performance and dynamic range, though real-world results will need testing after launch.

What It Means for UK Buyers

The Osmo Pocket 3 has been one of the most consistently recommended compact cameras for UK creators and travellers since its 2023 launch. The Pocket 4 does not appear to be a dramatic redesign — the gimbal form factor is unchanged — but the 4K/240fps ceiling and full Open Gate sensor are meaningful capability jumps that the Pocket 3 cannot match.

The switch from an exposed microSD slot to a covered door is a small but practical improvement for anyone using the camera outdoors or in variable weather, which is precisely the kind of use case the Pocket series targets.

A separate Osmo Pocket 4 Pro model has been reported, featuring a dual-lens setup and potentially Hasselblad colour science. That device is not launching on 16 April — current reporting points to a May–June window — and DJI has not officially confirmed any details about it.

Pricing and Availability Outlook

DJI will reveal full official UK pricing at the 12PM GMT launch event on 16 April. At around £489 according to pre-launch tracking by DroneHundred, the Pocket 4 would land at a similar price to the Pocket 3’s original UK launch point. That positioning, if confirmed, makes the upgrade case straightforward for Pocket 2 and older users, and gives Pocket 3 owners a credible reason to move across.

Pre-orders are expected to open immediately following the reveal, with Amazon UK and DJI’s own store the most likely routes to buy in the UK. The Pocket 3 Combo — the version most UK buyers opted for — retailed at £559; expect a similar bundle configuration for the Pocket 4 at launch.

You can check the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 on Amazon UK — listings expected live from 16 April following the launch event.
